ADMISSION TO THE COORDINATED PROGRAM IN DIETETICS (CP)

Students will be selected annually only at the beginning of the Spring semester for the following Fall semester. Admission to the CP requires that prospective students:
  • Successfully complete all prerequisite coursework
  • Maintain high academic achievement; a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher is desirable; students with a cumulative grade point average below 3.0 are reviewed competitively on a space-available basis
  • File a Department of Allied Health Sciences Professional Program Application
In order to qualify for Guaranteed Admission to the CP, a student must meet all the following criteria:
  • Have entered the University of Connecticut as a freshman
  • Apply to the University within two years of their freshman admission
  • Complete 3 successive semester of full-time study of required coursework at the University of Connecticut
  • Have taken all prerequisite science courses at the University of Connecticut
  • Have completed or be enrolled in MCB 203 and PNB 265 at the time the application is made
  • Earn a minimum overall grade point average of 3.0
  • Have submitted a complete application packet to the Department of Allied Health Sciences by the due date
If the Admissions Committee determines that an applicant has successively met all the above criteria, she/he is guaranteed admission to the CP. The applications of University of Connecticut students who do not meet the Guaranteed Admission criteria will be reviewed competitively. Transfer Applicants will be reviewed on a space-available basis once matriculated University of Connecticut students have been reviewed.

The deadline for University of Connecticut students and transfer students to the CP is February 1st. In addition to the Program application, transfer students from outside the University of Connecticut must submit an application for admission to the University’s Transfer Admissions Office.
