Joan is Adjunct Faculty in Clinical Dietetics in the Department of Allied Health Sciences, College of Agriculture and Natural Resources. She is a preceptor working with dietetics students in a clinical setting instructing students on the application of the principles of Medical Nutrition Therapy. She is a Registered Dietitian with over 20 years of experience in the field of nutrition education and has had the opportunity to work with a variety of populations regarding the nutrition needs during a specific time over the lifespan, such as during pregnancy and breast-feeding, and during infancy, preschool and adolescence. Her current area of interest is adult and geriatric nutrition, where she works with individuals and groups to establish dietary and activity patterns that promote optimum health and reduce the risk of chronic disease in the adult years.
