Paul Bureau teaches undergraduate courses at the University of Connecticut in the Allied Health Sciences Occupational and Environmental Health and Safety Program. He also guest lectures in several undergraduate and graduate Allied Health Sciences courses. Prior to joining the UCONN full-time faculty, Paul taught occupational health and safety courses for UCONN as an adjunct instructor. Paul also supports UCONN Health in Farmington, CT. on a part-time basis. He provides industrial hygiene expertise to occupational medicine physicians in the Division of Occupational and Environmental Medicine.
Paul has 30+ years of experience working in the occupational safety and health profession. His field of specialty is industrial hygiene and he has extensive experience in occupational safety, ergonomics, and worker’s compensation management. Industries worked include manufacturing, ship construction and repair, and a variety of industries associated with his work as a safety management specialist in the worker’s compensation insurance industry.
Paul has held managerial positions with General Dynamics Electric Boat Corporation, United Technologies Corporation, and Maine Employers Mutual Insurance Company (MEMIC). While at United Technologies Corporation, Paul conducted site assessments and training programs at business units located in Canada, Asia, India, Western Europe, the Pacific Rim and Mexico, in addition to undertaking other responsibilities.
Paul’s undergraduate degree is in Biological Sciences from the University of Connecticut. He holds a Master of Science degree in Industrial Hygiene from the University of Cincinnati and a Master of Science degree in Management from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI).
