| Graduate Programs in Allied Health Sciences
The Graduate Programs in the Department of Allied Health Sciences offers dynamic educational experiences for individuals who strive to improve the health of individuals, communities, and beyond. The department offers a Plan A (with thesis) and Plan B (practicum) Master’s degree in a diverse array of research interests (from Health Promotion to genetic models of disease). The courses and active participation in faculty’s research programs help students develop knowledge, skills, and competence that will open a variety of career options in health-related fields.

Who may apply:
The programs are open to all students who hold a Baccalaureate degree. Students will ideally enter the program with a degree in a health related field and/or a strong life sciences background. All previous coursework must meet the general requirements of the University of Connecticut Graduate School. Professional Opportunities:
Opportunities for professional development are an integral part of this program. Students may learn grant writing skills, publish in professional journals and present at national meetings. All students are encouraged to collaborate with faculty in pursuit of their scholarly interests. Faculty and students regularly participate in research meetings to allow for the exchange of scholarly ideas and initiatives that stimulate interdisciplinary collaboration in the department and college.
Scheduling and Facilities:
To accommodate working professionals, courses are offered in the late afternoon and evening at the Storrs, main campus. The program may be pursued either full or part time.
Library facilities and services are extensive and include a modern library on the Storrs campus, the L.M. Stowe Library at the University of Connecticut Health Center in Farmington as well as specialized libraries on the Storrs campus.
