Biography
Dr. Stephen Lanno is a Lecturer and Academic Advisor in the Department of Allied Health Sciences. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Diagnostic Genetic Sciences at UConn in 2009 and has been nationally certified with the American Society for Clinical Pathology as a Technologist in Cytogenetics since that time. Stephen holds a Ph.D. in Biology from Wesleyan University where he conducted research investigating the genetic and genomic basis of adaptive phenotypic traits, generating several publications in high-impact peer-reviewed journals such as G3: Genes | Genomes | Genetics, Molecular Ecology, and Ecology & Evolution. Dr. Lanno brings nearly a decade of experience working in clinical cytogenetics laboratories to the Diagnostic Genetic Sciences (DGS) program where he teaches undergraduate DGS coursework and is an Honors Core Advisor for DGS Honors students.
