Biography

Denise Anamani is a lecturer in the Department of Allied Health Sciences and the Director of the Diagnostic Genetic Sciences (DGS) Program. She is a graduate of Assumption College (Biology) and is an American Society for Clinical Pathologists (ASCP)-certified molecular laboratory technologist. Denise completed her graduate studies at Central Connecticut State University (Molecular Cell Biology) after many years working in the clinical laboratory. Her areas of expertise include molecular pathology, serology, and immunology.

As director of the DGS Program, Denise oversees the accreditation process with the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS). Her teaching responsibilities include didactic and laboratory courses in molecular diagnostics, cancer biology, and immunology. Among other duties, Denise oversees curriculum development and student placement for internships. She is very active in numerous professional organizations including the Association for Genetic Technologists. Denise is an honors advisor and a key faculty member for the Health Care Genetics Professional Science Master’s Program, while serving as an advisor, mentor and resource for students.
