Biography

Janet joined UConn Department of Allied Health Sciences in August, 2012.  She is a lecturer, academic advisor, and is director of the Hawley Fitness & Wellness Programs.  Before UConn, she worked for many years as a wellness director and exercise professional in corporate health & wellness at Pfizer, Inc (Groton, CT), and in the Syracuse, NY area with several companies, including United Technologies and Anheuser Busch.

Janet completed graduate studies at Syracuse University (Exercise Physiology), and undergraduate studies at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse (Community Health Education).  She also spent several years living in California, working at UCLA medical center where she managed programs at the family planning clinic/department of Ob/Gyn.

Janet and her dog Benji live in Niantic CT, a mile away from her twin sister – and she loves outdoors activities, yoga, and is a sports fan. Besides UConn, her favorite teams are the Green Bay Packers, Yankees…and yes, Syracuse Orange.
