Biography
Misiya Moon is an adjunct professor in the Department of Allied Health Sciences, Medical Laboratory Science Program. She completed a B.S. in Medical Laboratory Science at UCONN in 2005 and is an American Society for Clinical Pathologists (ASCP)-certified Medical Laboratory Scientist. Misiya completed her graduate studies at Quinnipiac University earning her M.S. In Laboratory Management and Administration. Her current areas of expertise include Bacteriology, Mycology, Mycobacteriology and Molecular Microbiology. She teaches MLS3333 Parasitology, Mycology and Virology.
Misiya currently works in the Microbiology department at Hartford Hospital part time. One of the largest clinical sites for the Medical Laboratory Science Program, she helps to train in the clinical setting and serves as a liaison for students when they transition into the clinical program.
