Biography

Rebecca is a UConn alum and earned both her Bachelor of Science degree in Dietetics and then her Master of Science in Health Promotion at UConn after changing careers from a Certified Veterinary Technician, for which she holds an Associate’s degree in Veterinary Medicine. Both of her parents are UConn graduates, and she met her husband in graduate school at UConn. She was a student of Palazzo Rucellai in Florence, Italy to study Sustainability and the Mediterranean Diet. She completed the Coordinated Dietetics Program and became a Registered Dietitian in 2015 and has 10 years of experience working as an RD, mainly in the acute care setting. She has experience working with many teams as a lead dietitian, including the Johns Hopkins Head and Neck Cancer Center with the surgical residents. Rebecca was the Assistant/Regional Manager of Clinical Nutrition for Baystate Health. Rebecca is passionate about teaching patients how to make small changes that can become sustainable for a healthy lifestyle. She is excited to be teaching students how to become caring team members in the hospital setting while being a strong advocate for their patients.
